Dr. Mwanawasa should fire Crispin Musosha

PRESS STATEMENT

President Levy Mwanawasa must with immediate effect, fire Luapula Province Deputy Minister, Honorable Crispin Musosha for abuse of office when he forcefully removed a vehicle carrying charcoal from lawful custody and without following procedures which was driven by his son.

We believe that the Movement for Multiparty Democracy-MMD Government, is a Government of Laws and not of men or mighty.

Honorable Musosha should be brought before the Ant-Corruption Commission, ACC so that he can be investigated for abuse of authority of office. Mr. Musosha must know that he is a public servant who should not use his position in Government to override normal operations of lawful Forest Officers who are titled by law to deal equally with all law offenders, including Ministers in society.

Society must stand-up to detest all forms of corruption.

Musosha should also be investigated by the Task Force on corruption for his bribery of some Patriotic Front Councillors in Luapula province recently so that they can join the ruling party which he claimed had bread and butter. We should also ask Honorable Musosha to resign on his own from the position he holds as Minister for Luapula Province on moral grounds because his behavior is not befitting a Minister.

In other countries, he could have stepped down after his bribes involving K2 million kwacha he paid to some Councillors, was made public.

We must challenge Dr. Mwanawasa to fire the Provincial Minister if his zero tolerance to corruption is to instill trust in the members of the general public. The people need to move in confidence with the Government in the fight against all forms of corruption.

The MMD should not be a sanctuary for people who have no regard to the rule of law. It is the ruling party which has the responsibility to service the people and to also lead by example.

Ba Chisanga,
Learn to read between lines of the Agenda media if you have to be an objective future policy maker. I have no doubt that you are making these orders to the President on the basis of the media reports without personal effort to authenticate them. Fair play calls for procedures and sobriety in pursuing such matters. We risk turning Zambia into a banana republic if the rule of law is substituted with personalized orders on the Republican President. How many public officials then will H.E fire on the basis of non authentic media reports? Don't forget we have effective institutions such as ACC and DEC to produce a report for the executive.

Your approach is impulsive and dangerous to the rule of law.

Thanks,

However, the government should check what it's ministers are doing.

Mr Bwembya , such leaders as Musosha are a disgrace. If you are not sure read The Post News lead story. It is the same Musosha

Mr Musosha has been behaving in un moral way for some time now, I suggest he goes back to the school of leadership. The good morals are also obtained in the respective families. He should learn to control his temper because next time he will be bit the president.

When the head is rotten the whole body follows suit. He is heading a province and what will be come of the people of that province? This type of behaver should not not be allowed in our leaders and The president who appointed him to this office should act very fast and sort out his minister. Mr. Mushosha is a public figure and he has refused to one by his actions and as such he has to be come a private figure by putting him where he belongs.
