LUSAKA,Mar. 27 - The demolition of houses and small business entities alleged to have been built in illegal settlements, or on plots of land that were dubiously acquired, should have been planned and conducted with due consideration of the welfare of families involved. There are just too many citizens who will be consigned to destitution and homelessness by the exercise as it is eventually extended to other towns and cities! The fate of school-going children and sickly residents who will be adversely affected by the demolition of their homes, for instance, should have been factored into the demolition exercise.

LUSAKA, Mar. 11 - Youth day is a very important day for both young and old zambians. It brings out memories of the sacrifice and dedication young people showed to liberate this country from colonial rule. We should commend the government for declaring it a national holidays.

LUSAKA, Mar. 11 - The Zambian youths must begin to exploit their inner development potential as they participate in this year’s youth day celebrations. They have to acknowledge that as youths, they belong to the majority of the nations’ most productive age group. They therefore, must develop positive mind styles. This is because they have the basic responsibility to effectively contribute towards the national development of the country.

LUSAKA, Mars 12 - It is unfortunate that the Zambian government—as reported by the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) on March 9, 2007—has found it necessary to establish additional diplomatic missions at a time when so many of our fellow citizens are wallowing in abject poverty. What is prompting us to make such irresponsible decisions? How can this be when the basic needs of education, public health, agriculture, road works and bridges, public safety and security, civil servants and civil service retirees, orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC), and the constitution-making process are not adequately met?
