Re: Plunder Of National ResourcesLUSAKA, ZAMBIA, Jan. 01 - The problem with Zambians wherever they are home or abroad is that they are very naive people. Now suddenly everyone has charged Chiluba as the plunderer that reduced the nation to absolute poverty. What nonsense! Let us be frank here, every Jim and Jack making noise about Chiluba and government would have acted in the same way Chiluba did had he been made president in 1991. You have a constitution that gives so much power to the President and have thin gray lines separating what is within the President's power and what is not. You have a people that so readily kowtow to any kind of leader. You have traditional chiefs that just what an extra million in their pockets. You have pastors that are trying day in day out to milk the pockets of the poor people dry, you have educated people that think of entering politics as a business strategy, you have lawyers that do think morality has anything to do with legality, you have teachers that sleep with school children day in dayout, magistrates that survive on brides, passport officers that run thriving bribery cartels, NGO that are spending millions of dollars on workshops that do not mean anything just so that they can get more funding and waste it, police officers have bribe me written on their fore heads. You have all this in the country, and you have the guts to condem Chiluba as if he has bred in different environment! My friends, the problem is with the man in the mirror. "If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change". We are all as responsible for the mess we are in as Chiluba and Chungu. The sooner we can to terms with that, the better for them we will look for more fundamental solutions to fundamental problems. Musenga Musenga Add your response to Readers' Corner |
